Prezados atletas GFNY Portugal,
estamos todos a passar por momentos difíceis em um ano atípico.
Tudo o que nos era possível fazer até o início de 2020 hoje nos parece ter sido em um passado distante dado às tantas restrições que nos foram impostas. Mas apesar de tudo, continuamos firmes e à trabalhar pela nossa corrida.
Aqui em Portugal as coisas começam a se normalizar, mas ainda existem focos de contaminação e as autoridades estão atentas para que não haja uma nova vaga de Covid-19 que obrigue o país a se fechar novamente.
A partir de 15 de Setembro o governo de Portugal decretará “estado de contingência”, o que irá aumentar as restrições que já estão em vigor.
Por esta razão, e apesar de todos os nossos esforços, mesmo a atender a todos os protocolos sanitários estabelecidos, as autoridades de saúde e Câmaras Municipais não estão a autorizar a realização de eventos desportivos.
Para além disso, há uma forte restrição à entrada de estrangeiros em território português, especialmente os oriundos da América Latina e USA.
Assim, e pelos motivos expostos acima, a organização do GFNY Portugal, conjuntamente com as entidades locais, decidiu adiar a edição 2020 para não colocar em risco os participantes e, com segurança, poder realizar a corrida em 2021.
Aos inscritos, todas as entradas serão automaticamente validadas para o próximo ano sem necessidade que enviem qualquer tipo de solicitação para tal.

Dear GFNY Portugal Riders,
we are all going through difficult times in an atypical year.
Everything we were able to do until the beginning of 2020, today seems a distant past due to the many restrictions imposed on us. But in spite of everything, we remained confident and kept working on the race.
Here in Portugal things started to normalize, but there are still points of contamination and the authorities are careful that there is not a new wave of Covid-19 that will force the country to close again.
From September 15th, the government of Portugal will declare a “contingency state”, which will increase the restrictions that are already in force.
As a result, and despite all our efforts - which include compliance with all established health protocols - the health authorities and city councils are not authorizing sports events.
In addition, many foreigners are not allowed to enter Portugal, especially those from Latin America and the USA.
Thus, and for the reasons explained above, the organization of GFNY Portugal, together with local entities, was forced to postpone the 2020 edition to 2021.
All entries will be automatically valid for the next year.
